This charming "mini-Hoosier" is upstairs at Cleaveland's @Shakelton Hardware in Aurora. 

 

If you don't find what you are looking for downstairs amongst the new hardware, take a look upstairs in this treasure trove of old drawer pulls, tools, hooks, etc.

 

A special appearance from Dinosaur Dry Goods has landed a rack of Flax at bargain prices upstairs at Shakelton's.

 

Just give Ted a quick wave in the hardware store and head upstairs for Paddington's ever-changing collection of antiques and collectibles.

Big News! Cleaveland's will re-open on March 19, 2010. Hours will be Friday~Saturday~Sunday from 1-5pm with expanding hours as the weather warms.

Antiquing in the Winter

We used to make a yearly winter trek to Clyde, NY to the old hotel turned antique store there. I think the clerk had a space heater behind the counter, but that was about it. On the upper floors, there were broken windows and small snow drifts. It was fun and adventurous and we always bought stuff, but brrrrrr...it was cold. Cleaveland's has decided to close for January and February, but you can always call to make an appointment. Also, be sure to check out our satellite venues (which are very well-heated): Auburn Trading Post, Skaneateles Antique Center, Ithaca Antique Center, Barn House Antiques and Shakelton Hardware.
